I was born in Stuttgart and, due to my parents professions, grew up in several states throughout Germany and partially in Northern Italy.
Today I live and work in Berlin.
My father was a chemical engineer, and my mother is a trained men's tailor who worked as a costume designer at various theatres and ran her own atelier specialising in bespoke suits and custom tailoring.
During my childhood years, we went on long hikes in the Alps - at times rather involuntarily, but now gratefully - and spent a lot of time in nature, which awakened my awareness of ecological balance and natural habitats at a very early age. At school, much to the chagrin of my teachers, I stood out as an opinionated student and won my first elections: as class and school representative of the students' council.
My parents professions and travels exposed me to different cultures and mentalities from an early age, which sparked my curiosity to travel extensively. Even before graduating from high school, I spent a year travelling through Europe in a van.
I was able to finance my studies with a scholarship from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom. After a lengthy search among various parties, primarily left-wing and the greens, I found my political home in liberalism. The principles of freedom, personal responsibility, and self-realization resonate most strongly with me and offer, for me, the most logical foundation not only for economic policy but also for safeguarding fundamental and human rights, environmental protection, and a robust social policy grounded in individual freedom and equal opportunities.
During my studies, I was politically active and had the chance to visit global conferences, participated in podium discussions and actively shaped partisan policy as student councillor. Afterwards, I entered the field of innovation consulting and research and began managing technology and large-scale projects in management consulting: for Berlin-based startups as well as in collaboration with numerous international corporations such as BASF, Schlumberger, Ford, Adidas, Boston Consulting Group, Petronas, and Accenture. My career and political involvement brought me to Spain, Belgium, Italy, Israel, Hong Kong, and the United States, among other places.
Having worked in various political and economic contexts, to me, the most relevant issue facing our society today is the preservation of natural habitats and biodiversity. Our global lifestyle and modern consumption behaviour utilise significantly more resources than sustainable or responsible. I am convinced that a life without deprivation and in prosperity is possible with today's technologies. Global wealth and environmental protection are not opposites, but can be mutually reinforcing.
In my work, I supported numerous projects that explore this field and consider technological innovation as a catalyst for social change.
